Angono Wind Ensemble
ANGONO WIND ENSEMBLE INC. The Angono Wind Ensemble Inc. was founded in 1993 by 18 young and talented musicians under the leadership of Professor Jose Romel Gragera. Most of its founding members were former musicians of the Angono National High School Band, and with the strong support of Mrs. Cynthia Cruz, then principal of the school, the ensemble steadily grew in both membership and reputation.
The ensemble is committed to excellence in musical performance through continuous training and competitions, while preserving and promoting Angono’s rich cultural and musical heritage. It also encourages youth involvement by providing opportunities for growth, exposure, and performance, including scholarships for talented but underprivileged musicians.
Over the years, the Angono Wind Ensemble Inc. has been invited to perform in prestigious venues and major national celebrations. Its performances showcase versatility in marching band presentations, symphonic concerts, parades, and various cultural events.
Beyond its local and national achievements, the ensemble has produced world-class musicians who have gained international recognition. Many former members have pursued professional careers in theme parks, cruise ships, and different branches of the armed forces, reinforcing the ensemble’s lasting impact and Angono’s reputation as a center of music and the arts.
