Angono‑Binangonan Petroglyphs

Angono‑Binangonan Petroglyphs is a National Cultural Treasure having a Prehistoric Rock Art. Discover the oldest known artworks in the Philippines at the Angono‑Binangonan Petroglyphs, located on a rock shelter between Angono and Binangonan, Rizal. These prehistoric carvings, dating back to around 3000 BC, feature human figures, animals, and geometric shapes etched into volcanic rock, reflecting the artistic expression and spiritual practices of early Filipinos.

Declared a National Cultural Treasure in 1973, the site is carefully preserved and

managed by the National Museum of the Philippines, allowing visitors to witness these

ancient artworks in their original setting. The petroglyphs are not only a window into the
